With the COVID-19 pandemic still wreaking havoc on planning for different events and conventions around the world, and with the latent danger of a second outbreak later this year, anime conventions will need to adapt to this and consider the health of fans before anything else.

As a result, several anime conventions have canceled their editions this year, some have been postponed in hopes that the situation with the COVID-19 will subside, and others have changed their format to a virtual one to suit current times.
