The
official X portal (formerly Twitter) of the anime Jibaku Shounen
Hanako-kun , known in the West as Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun ,
announced that its new animated sequel will premiere in Japan
on July 6 through the TBS channel and other
affiliated networks.
The new
block of episodes will air every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. (UTC+2) and
will be a direct continuation of the second season that began in January of
this year.
A new
director for a new cycle
This new
phase of the anime is directed by Yōhei Fukui , who previously
served as episode director for the first season, specifically episode 10. Fukui
replaces Masaomi Andō , who directed the original season.
Lerche studio remains in charge
of animation, while Yasuhiro Nakanishi returns as the series'
scriptwriter. Mayuka Itou , in charge of character design,
also returns, maintaining the visual essence that fans loved so much in 2020.
Music
that connects with the soul
The second
season, which premiered on January 12 , featured the opening
theme song “L'oN” performed by Masayoshi Ōishi ,
and the ending theme song “With a Wish” performed by Akari
Kitō , who also voices Nene Yashiro in the series.
Crunchyroll was responsible for streaming
the new episodes simultaneously with Japan, both in the original subtitled
version and with English dubbing, repeating the strategy Funimation used
with the first season in 2020.
A
rebirth announced since 2022
In December
2022 , the anime's official website surprised fans by announcing that
the Hanako-kun animated project would be rebooting in the form
of a new series. Since then, expectations for more content featuring the mysterious
toilet spirit have been growing.
Recall that
the first season of the anime debuted in January 2020 and
consisted of 12 episodes , quickly earning a place among the
most beloved titles in the supernatural and school genre.
A summer
full of the occult
With its
return scheduled for this summer, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun promises
to continue unraveling the secrets of the Bathroom of Seven Mysteries ,
while strengthening the bonds between the protagonists and immersing us once
again in its peculiar universe between the tender, the melancholic and the
supernatural.
