HIDIVE confirmed
on Wednesday that it will exclusively stream the second season of
the Call of the Night ( Yofukashi no Uta )
anime during the 2025 summer season. The series will premiere in July as part
of the Noitamina block on Fuji TV , airing
every Friday at 5:30 p.m. (UTC+2) in Japan.
Early
premiere at Anime Expo
As part of
the promotion for the series' return, HIDIVE will be offering an exclusive
sneak peek of the second episode (first half) during Anime
Expo 2025 , scheduled for July 5 at 11:45 PM (UTC+2) .
This will be a unique opportunity for eager fans looking for a sneak peek of
what's coming next.
New
vampire joins the cast
Among the
most notable additions is the addition of voice actress Rina Satō ,
who will play Kiku Hoshimi , a mysterious and seductive woman
who will awaken the love interest of Mahiru , Kō Yamori 's
friend . This new character promises to add tension and drama to the
protagonist's already complex nightlife.
A
production that repeats the winning formula
Production
on the sequel continues under LIDEN FILMS , with Tomoyuki
Itamura ( Monogatari series ) serving as the main
director, while Tetsuya Miyanishi (Josee, the Tiger and the
Fish) serves as chief director. The script is still by Michiko Yokote ,
and character designs are by Haruka Sagawa .
On the
musical side, the duo Creepy Nuts returns to perform the
opening theme song “Datenshi” and the ending theme song “Yofukashi
no Uta,” in addition to several inserted themes that enrich the
story’s nocturnal setting.
The manga has ended, but the anime is just beginning.
The
original manga, written by Kotoyama (Dagashi Kashi), ran
in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from August 2019 until its
final volume in January 2024. Shogakukan published the final
volume, issue 20, in March 2024. Viz Media is publishing the
manga in English.
The story
follows Kō Yamori , a young man who abandons his everyday life
and finds escape in the night streets, until he meets Nanakusa Nazuna ,
an enigmatic vampire who leads him to question his humanity and his deepest
desires.
A second
season full of nighttime emotions
With its
combination of supernatural romance, existential reflections, and immersive
aesthetics, Call of the Night promises to continue to
captivate its audience in this new season. If the first few nights were
intense, those to come promise to be even darker and more seductive.
