In these times of isolation and social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic still active in the world, it is worth remembering when voice actress Yuko Miyamura performed the iconic opening theme of Neon Genesis Evangelion, titled “Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis ”. It should be noted that Miyamura is, in fact, the voice of Asuka Langley Soryuu in the series, and Asuka Langley Shikinami in the Rebuild of Evangelion project.

However, back then not only Yuko Miyamura performed this theme, but also Rei Ayanami's voice, Megumi Hayashibara, as shown in the following music video.

About Evangelion

The original series premiered in Japan in October 1995, with 26 episodes written and directed by Hideaki Anno at Gainax Studios in collaboration with Tatsunoko Production. On the other hand, the film Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, the last of the tetralogy of the new Evangelion project, was scheduled to be released on June 27 in Japan. However, due to the health situation the country is going through caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was made to delay it indefinitely. The new release date will be announced as soon as it is decided.

Additionally, Netflix acquired the distribution license for the original series and the films of the franchise, with the exception of the Rebuild project. The first three films in the project were released in 2007, 2009 and 2012, respectively.
