Through his official Twitter account, the author of the light novels Ryuuou no Oshigoto !, Shirow Shiratori congratulated Souta Fujii, who is currently the bearer of the titles Kisei and Oui (two of the eight most important titles in professional shogi in Japan). In fact, Fujii is the youngest person ever to have been recognized as a professional gamer by the Japan Shogi Association, and one of only five players to have turned pro while still in high school.

In his message, Shiratori wrote, “In Ryuuou no Oshigoto !, after five years of preparation, our protagonist has finally reached the point of his second coronation, and he did so through intense development. However, in reality, Souta Fujii achieved both of his titles in just 35 days. As a novelist, it is difficult to admit that reality has overtaken my fiction. "
The last part refers to the fact that Fujii got the title of "Kisei" in June of this year, at the age of 17 and becoming the youngest professional shogi player in history to hold a major title. However, just over a month later, Fujii challenged Kazuki Kimura for the title of “Oui”, defeating him and getting a double crowning and the title of “8-dan”.

In a second post, Shitatori wrote: “The five years of history that I have written represent only 35 days in the life of Souta Fujii. Nevertheless, I feel very fortunate to write a shogi story in this important era. Now I'm sure that no matter how unreal what I write, Fujii will surely come and get over it. That only makes me more excited to write!
Shiratori began publishing Shirabi's illustrated light novels through SB Creative Publishing's GA Bunko imprint in September 2015. The publisher published the twelfth volume on February 14 and published the thirteenth on August 6 in Japan.
