Saki manga goes on hiatus until December

In this year's 20th issue of Square Enix publisher's Young Gangan magazine it was announced that the manga written and illustrated by Ritz Kobayashi, Saki, will once again go on hiatus between issues 21 and 24 this year.

This means that the work will resume its serialization until December 18, which will be when the first edition of 2021 of the magazine will be published. The play has been on multiple pauses in its serialization, with the most recent going from December 2019 to the beginning of March 2020.

On the other hand, Kobayashi began publishing the manga in Square Enix publisher's Young Gangan magazine in February 2006. The publisher published the 20th compiled volume on March 25 in Japan.

The play inspired a 25-episode anime adaptation produced by Gonzo Studios in collaboration with Picture Magic, directed by Manabu Ono and scripts written by Ttasuhiko Urahata, released in April 2009.

Saki Synopsis

Saki has never been a fan of mahjong. A lifetime of being forced to play it with her family at parties (and losing her money as a result…) has left her with a bad taste in her mouth when she comes across the game. However, when she decides to play a game with her friends, she discovers that all those defeats against her family have given her great skill in the game, and she even has fun playing!

Will this revelation be enough to undo Saki's rejection of mahjong? Will her classmates be able to convince her to join the mahjong club? Or would it be a hopeless action? If you are looking for the best manga about mahjong, then you are watching it right now.
