The Idolmaster Starlit Season game will be delayed until 2021

During the presentation “The Idolmaster Starlit Season Report”, it was announced that the launch of the video game The Idolmaster Starlit Season has been delayed until 2021 in Japan.


The game was scheduled to be released this year on the PlayStation 4 console and PC via Steam in Japan, and marks the 15th anniversary of The Idolmaster franchise, including characters from The Idolmaster, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, The Idolmaster Million Live! and The Idolmaster Shiny Colors.

The installment will use the Unreal Engine 4 and will include "the greatest representations ever seen of the world of idols." The game will have "evolved" live performances and scenes of interaction with idols from different agencies of the franchise.


The Idolmaster Starlit Season Synopsis

The “Starlit Season” is an idol unit competition in which the winning group will be able to perform at the recently opened “Starlit Dome”. The player, a producer for talent agency 765 Production, has returned to Japan after participating in a training and coaching program.

After returning to the offices of 765 Production, the player is greeted by Junjirou Takagi and hears his idea about assembling a new idol unit made up of members from different agencies to compete in the Starlit Season. Takagi even reveals that he has already called several agencies and that all have accepted the offer, and just a few moments after the arrival of the protagonist, Takagi has already entrusted him with the production of this special unit made up of four brands and known as the “Project Luminous ”.
