KonoSuba! celebrates Megumin's birthday

On December 4, Japan celebrated the birthday of the Megumin character from the successful multimedia franchise based on the lightweight novels Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (also known as KonoSuba!). Multiple Twitter accounts celebrated the occasion, starting the official Twitter account of the animated adaptation. "Today is Megumin's birthday" wrote the account accompanied by a picture of a small Megumin figure.


The Sneaker Bunko publishing house of Kadokawa also joined the celebration: "December 4th is Megumin's birthday, appearing in Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! In commemoration of her birthday, we have prepared some special Megumin products. Reservations will be available from January 7, 2021. 


The Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo smartphone game! Fantastic Days (KonoSuba! Fantastic Days), which will arrive in the West in 2021, also published: "December 4th, is Megumin's birthday. If you log in today you can play the special mission "Megumin (Birthday Episode)". You can get great rewards! Let's celebrate inside the game by throwing out increasingly explosive magic!

 


Finally, the KDcolle division of Kadokawa announced the launch of a special figure: "Marketing Decision. From the movie Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Kurenai Densetsu, Megumin has become a figure wearing a refreshing outfit. The 3D prototype has been released for the first time. 






Akatsuki began publishing the light novels with illustrations by Kurone Mishima in 2013. The work inspired two anime adaptations released in January 2016 and January 2017, respectively. An animated film entitled Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shikufuku wo! Kurenai Densetsu was released in Japan in August 2019.
