The Box Office Mojo portal estimated that the film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen made 6.39 million dollars in its second weekend, surpassing the weekly income of Mortal Kombat. If this is officially confirmed, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen would become the second Japanese film (and also the second anime film) in US box office history to dominate at the weekly box office. The first film to achieve this feat was Pokémon: The First Movie.
On the other hand, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen is now the third highest grossing anime film in the history of the United States (without considering inflation), reaching 34.11 million dollars accumulated at the box office until May 2. . With this figure it surpassed the 30.71 million dollars of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and is only behind the 85.74 million dollars of Pokémon: The First Movie and the 43.75 million of Pokémon 2000 - The Movie.
The film opened in Japanese theaters on October 16, achieving the highest grossing at the global box office in its opening weekend. It is currently the highest-grossing film in Japanese history, and also the highest-grossing Japanese film globally. A premiere in theaters in Mexico and Latin America was also held since last April 22.

After a series of mysterious disappearances begin to plague a train, the Demon Hunter Corps' multiple attempts to remedy the problem are unsuccessful.
