Yowamushi Pedal Synopsis

Sakamichi Onoda is a cheerful otaku who wants to join his new school's anime club, eager to finally make some friends. Unfortunately, the club has disbanded and he takes it upon himself to revive it by finding students who are willing to join. Without much luck, Onoda decides to take a round trip to Akihabara on his bulky old city bike, a weekly 90-kilometre ride he's been doing since fourth grade. It is then that he meets his first-year classmate, Shunsuke Imaizumi, a determined cyclist who uses the steep slope of the school to practice. Amazed at Onoda's ability to climb the hill on his specific type of bike, Imaizumi challenges him to a race, proposing to join the anime club if Onoda wins.
