Cyberpunk 2077 has reached a huge sales milestone as CD Projekt Red has revealed that the game has surpassed twenty million copies sold. The game was originally released in December 2020, which means that it took less than two years for the game to reach the twenty million mark.
The last time we received a sales update on Cyberpunk 2077 was in April of this year, when we learned that the game had sold eighteen million copies. The game has since sold two million more copies, likely thanks to the combination of the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the announcement of Phantom Liberty , the game's first and only major DLC expansion.
This sales milestone is the latest in a string of good news for Cyberpunk 2077 , bringing a refreshing change of pace after the game's disastrous launch. CD Projekt Red recently shared that over a million players entered Night City each day for the past week. The game also hit its highest number of concurrent players on Steam in over a year and a half earlier this month.
Twenty million is a huge milestone that few games in history have reached, but it's almost even more remarkable for Cyberpunk 2077 , which was in such rough shape that Sony pulled the game from the PlayStation Store shortly after release. Cyberpunk 2077 returned to the PlayStation store last summer, and it's had a much smoother ride ever since.
