In undeniable that Bocchi the Rock! is one of the most popular series of the Fall-2022 (October-December) season , currently occupying the second position in the ranking of the highest rated series of the season according to MyAnimeList, only behind Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and above Chainsaw Man.
However, this numerical superiority comes even though "the Bocchi" that appears in the anime adaptation is not totally faithful to the one that appears in the manga . We are not referring to her attitude, which in both media is socially awkward, but to her physical attributes. Fans of the original work already had their doubts about it, but the most recent episode ended up confirming it.
Prior to a presentation on stage, Bocchi participates in a maid cafe , so obviously she must wear the characteristic outfit to serve customers. In the original manga, Ella Bocchi was barely able to fit her large breasts into her outfit, but in the anime adaptation she is flatter than a board. Yes, she is a nerf, and one of the weakest.
The production had already hinted that Bocchi's breasts were smaller than in the original manga in previous episodes, but the latest episode was the perfect evidence to show this fact. Why was this decision made? There is no possible clue, although perhaps the production wanted Bocchi to become popular with fans because of his personality and not because of his body, something they definitely achieved . Would Bocchi's popularity have been different if he had kept his big breasts? After all, let's remember that the manga had gone unnoticed until now.
Synopsis of Bocchi the Rock!
Hitori “Bocchi” Gotou, lonely and eager to mingle with others, spends her time playing the guitar. One fateful day, Bocchi meets outgoing drummer Nijika Ijichi, who invites her to join the Kessoku Band when her guitarist, Ikuyo Kita, runs away before her first concert. Shortly after, Bocchi meets her last partner, the great bassist Ryou Yamada.
Although their first performance together is mediocre, the girls are strengthened by their shared love of music, and Kita soon joins them again. Bocchi and her classmates, who find happiness in performing, put all their efforts into improving as musicians while making the most of their fleeting high school days.
