On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Nana Mikoshiba and illustrated by Norihito Sasaki , The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World ( Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu: Sekai Saikyou no Majutsushi de Aru Shounen wa, Majutsu Gakuin ni Nyuugaku suru ), a new promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for January 5, 2023 in Japan , and shows the opening theme titled " Dystopia " and performed by Sizuk.

Nana Mikoshiba began publication of the story through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in October 2019. The physical version with illustrations by Norihito Sasaki began publication in July 2020 in Japan through Kodansha publishers . A manga adaptation has been published through Kodansha 's Magazine Pocket service since June 2020.

Everyone knows the mightiest soldier, the Ice Blade Wizard, who led the country to victory three years ago, but few know his real name: Ray White. After overcoming a bloody war, Ray enrolls in Arnold Academy, ready to experience a normal life, a luxury he never had. To achieve this, he keeps his identity as an ice blade mage a secret, and the scars of the past still haunt him to this day.
Despite being ostracized for being a commoner, Ray befriends the proud but kind Amelia Rose, the muscular Evy Armstrong, and the shy and bookish Elisa.
