A leak from this year's eighth issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine , specifically from the comments section, revealed that Gege Akutami , creator of the world-popular Jujutsu Kaisen manga , plans to finish serialization of the work this year. As usual, these messages are quite short, and Akutami's wrote: « Happy New Year. I hope to finish the story this year ».
In fact, Gege Akutami had already commented during the Jump Festa 2023 event on his plans to finish the story one year from the date in question. In addition, in February 2021, he had also made the statement that he would finish his work "in two years from then." However, this time there is no room for interpretation, since the author has made his message quite clear.
Gege Akutami began publishing the manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. The first season of the anime adaptation had a total of twenty-four episodes and premiered during the Fall-2022 (October- December) . Subsequently, an animated film titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was produced and released on December 24, 2021 in theaters in Japan, then a second season will premiere next July in Japan.
Jujutsu Kaisen Synopsis
High school student Yuuji Itadori, who engages in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, spends his days in the club room or in the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the bizarre when he unknowingly stumbles across a cursed item. Setting off a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji suddenly finds himself drawn into the world of curses - terrible beings formed from human evil and negativity - after swallowing said object, which is revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the “King of Curses”.
Yuuji experiences firsthand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical School, he begins to walk a path from which he can never return: that of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
