Sinopsis of Mahoutsukai no Yome

Chise Hatori, a 15-year-old Japanese girl, was sold for five million pounds at auction to a tall masked gentleman. Abandoned at a young age and ridiculed by her peers for her unconventional behavior, she was willing to give herself up to any buyer if it meant having a place to return to. Chained and en route to an unknown destination, she listens to the whispers of the robed men in her path, gossiping and complaining that such a buyer has gotten hold of a rare “Sleigh Beggy”.

Ignoring the whispers, the mysterious man leads the girl into a study, where he reveals himself to be Elias Ainsworth, a magician. After a brief confrontation and some teleportation magic, the two open their eyes to Elias' quaint country house in rural England. Greeted by fairies and surrounded by weird and wonderful beings upon arrival, these events mark the beginning of Chise's story as the ancient wizard's apprentice and supposed bride.
