The publisher Shueisha has released a fascinating video where Kentaro Yabuki , famous for works such as “ To LOVE-Ru ” and “ Black Cat ”, shares his drawing process. The creator is also known for his manga adaptation of “ Darling in the FranXX ” and his most recent work, “ Ayakashi Triangle .”

In an emotional message shared on Twitter, the author reflects on his beginnings in the manga industry. Yabuki remembers the summer of 1997, when, at age 17, he was inspired by projects like “Princess Mononoke” and “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” which stood out for his artistic approach. It was then that he discovered the concept of “creativity” and decided to test his abilities.

“ On those summer vacations, I drew and submitted my first manga, winning the Osamu Akimoto Prize. Despite the concerns of my parents and teachers, my manga began to be published in the spring of 1998 thanks to the enthusiasm of Shueisha's editor-in-chief, who personally showed up to convince my parents," Yabuki relates .

 


The mangaka confesses that, although he debuted young, he faced numerous challenges in his beginnings. “ It's not always good to debut so young ,” he reflects, describing a stage where he had to face bosses without having leveled up.
