On June 21, acclaimed voice actress Sora Amamiya ’s official website was updated to report a serious incident of harassment and illegal recording that has occurred during her current tour. The statement highlights: “ On the currently ongoing tour ‘LAWSON Presents Sora Amamiya Live Tour 2024 “Ten to Bluer Sky”’, acts of unauthorized recording have been confirmed, which is strictly prohibited . All types of recording inside the venue, including during entry and exit, are prohibited unless specifically directed .”

The statement also states that photos of artists uploaded to illegal auctions have also been detected at other events organised by the company. To prevent such illegal acts, security has been tightened. “ If any suspicious recording behaviour is discovered, staff will approach to verify the identity of the person involved. We appreciate your understanding ,” the notice stresses. Attendees are also asked to immediately inform security staff if they see someone recording within the venue. “ We are actively investigating the sale of illegally obtained photos and we reiterate that purchasing these photos is engaging in an illegal act. We strongly urge you not to do so .”

A prominent figure in the anime industry, Sora Amamiya is widely known for her breakout roles. Among her most recognizable roles are Elizabeth in “ Nanatsu no Taizai ,” Chizuru Mizuhara in “ Kanojo, Okarishimasu ,” and Aqua in “ KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! ”. In addition to her work as a seiyuu, Amamiya has also developed a successful career as a singer, combining her vocal talents with live performances that attract numerous fans.

This recent incident has raised concerns among fans and the entertainment industry community. The vulnerability of artists to harassment and unauthorized recording highlights the need for stricter safety measures and awareness among fans to respect artists’ privacy and rights. The current situation not only affects Amamiya, but also highlights a broader issue that requires joint attention and action.

Amidst this situation, the measures taken by Amamiya's team are expected to deter future acts of illegal recording and protect both the artist and her fans. The community is united in the effort to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all involved.
