On the official site for the anime adaptation of the
manga written and illustrated by Synecdoche , “ Plus-Sized Elf ( Elf-san
wa Yaserarenai )”, it was revealed that the series will have
multiple versions that will vary the level of censorship of what is shown on
screen , and that correspond to the following classification:
- The
“ Regular Version ” will begin broadcasting on July
6 (the official premiere date).
- The
“ Potepote Version ”, which will begin broadcasting on
AT-X on July 8 .
- The
“ Mecha Potepote Version ” will begin broadcasting
on July 19 on the AnimeFesta streaming service.
The site is a bit vague about what each version is,
and “Potepote (ぽてぽて)” is a word for “fat,”
so it also leaves a lot to interpretation. However, looking back at the
source material, we can see that there are a lot of nude scenes and shots
focusing on the girls’ crotches. The uncensored version probably shows
all of these animated panels, while the PG version omits them.
Synecdoche began publishing the manga through
the digital service Comic Gum in December 2016, while the
publisher Wani Book is in charge of publishing the
compilation volumes. The manga was subsequently suspended and resumed, now
in Akita Shoten 's Dokedomo
Young Champion magazine in October 2021.
Sinopsis de Plus-Sized Elf
Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about
to head home for the day when he gets a rather strange patient. This lovely
lady has emerald eyes, pointy ears, and grew up in the forest; everything about
her screams “elf,” except for one thing: her corpulent body. It turns out she
left her world but loves junk food in this one, and now her obsession has
caught up with her. Can Naoe-kun help this adorable elf lose weight and keep it
off?
The serialization of “Plus-Sized Elf” on
Web Comic Gum ended with the publication of chapter 45 on February 24, 2021.
Chapters 46 and 47 were originally published through the author’s Twitter
account on April 30, 2021, and May 29, 2021, respectively. The official
publication of the series ended with the publication of volume 8 by Akita
Shoten on November 18, 2021.
