On the official Twitter account for the franchise
based on the manga written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu ,
“ Cells at Work! ( Hataraku
Saibou )”, a promotional trailer for the upcoming live-action film
adaptation of the project was revealed. The video confirms the cast of actors
and lists that the premiere is scheduled for the month of December-2024
in theaters in Japan .
For her part, Akane Shimizu began
publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Monthly
Shonen Sirius magazine in January 2015 and ended it in January 2021,
with a total of six compilation volumes. The work has inspired a wide variety
of spin-off stories by different authors, several of whom have achieved their
own anime adaptations such as the main franchise, which received two seasons
produced by David Production .
