A press release listed that the light novels written
by Shuichi Nimaru , “ Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood
Friend Won't Lose ,” will end with the publication of its
13th Volume, scheduled for release on February 7, 2025. According
to the release, in this volume “ all the answers will be revealed in
one last scenario: the Confession Festival, which will finally decide the
winning heroine .”
Shuichi Nimaru began
publishing the light novels through Kadokawa 's Dengeki
Bunko publishing house in January 2019, with illustrations by Ui
Shigure . An anime adaptation by Doga Kobo Studios aired
during the Spring 2021 period (April-June) , featuring twelve
episodes. A continuation for this project was never announced.

Suehara Maru is the childhood best friend of one of
the most popular girls at Hozumino High School, Kuroha Shida. Pretty, outgoing,
and caring, Kuroha is the perfect kind of older sister. Boys constantly beg him
to be with her. However, when she confesses to Suehara one day, he immediately
rejects her; he can't think of her that way! Plus, he already has his sights
set on his first love: school idol and renowned writer Shirokusa Kachi.
