On the
official website for the anime “ Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX ” (pronounced “g-kwux”), a new
promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms that Kenshi
Yonezu will be performing the main theme song for the theatrical
re-release of the project, which will be titled “ Mobile Suit Gundam
GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- .”
Titled
“Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-,” the pre-release film will open in
theaters in Japan on January 17, and will later premiere as a television anime
series. It was previously confirmed that Hideaki Anno , known
for his work on “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” will not be the creative
director on the project, but that Kazuya Tsurumaki, one of his close
collaborators, will be taking the reins.

Synopsis
of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX
The plot
follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living a quiet life on a space
colony. However, her life changes dramatically when she meets Nyaan, a war
refugee who introduces her to the underground world of the mobile suit dueling
sport known as Clan Battle. Adopting the alias “Machu,” Amate becomes a fierce
competitor in this dangerous circuit, piloting the mysterious Gundam GQuuuuuuX.
Things
take an unexpected turn when an unknown Gundam, pursued by both the space force
and the police, appears before Amate. This encounter also leads her to meet its
enigmatic pilot, a young man named Shūji, who could be the key to unraveling
the secrets behind the clashes and the fate of the colony.
