A press
release listed that Chinjao Musume and Tama Nogami ’s seinen manga , “ Hitozuma
no Kuchibiru wa Kan Chuuhai no Aji ga Shite ( A Married Woman’s Lips Taste
Like Canned Chuhai ),” is getting an anime adaptation that will
premiere sometime in 2025 in Japan. The listing did not reveal
production details or the voice cast, so we will have to wait for more
information in the future.
The
statement included comments from the manga's author and illustrator:
- Chinjao Musume (original
author): In episode 1, Tsuyoshi was tormented by the feeling of being left
behind by the world. It’s heartwarming to see how far he’s come… In the
planning phase of the manga, he was only defined as a “negligent college
student,” but now he’s grown up to become the protagonist of an anime.
This is undoubtedly thanks to Nogami-sensei’s hard work and the support of
all of you. As an author, I feel a joy similar to watching a nephew grow
up. Tsuyoshi-kun, I hope you continue to shine in the future. Take care of
your liver…! Oh, and of course, the anime will feature appearances by a
select group of wives, including Yui-san, his aunt. Don’t miss it!

thanks to the support of our readers. Thank you so much! When I first
heard the news, my reaction was, “Huh? Really…? This can be made into an
anime…?” Joy and worry were mixed in equal parts, but of course, the staff
is working on the production so that everything fits together well… taking
advantage of the best of the story. As a viewer, I can’t wait to see

For its
part, Chinjao Musume began publishing the manga through Kodansha ’s YanMaga Web service
in February 2021, where it is still in serialization and has even released a
“full-color” version of its volumes. According to the statement, WWWave ’s Deregula label
is in charge of production, being the second announced to date after “ Yandere
Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World! “.
Synopsis
of Hitozuma no Kuchibiru wa Kan Chuuhai no Aji ga Shite
Tsuyoshi,
a 22-year-old college student, spends his days juggling classes and his job as
a food delivery boy, with a can of strong chuuhai always within reach. Living
alone in a small apartment, his routine takes an unexpected turn when he
becomes entangled with Yui Koriyama, a married woman he has admired since
childhood. What begins as an innocent connection soon develops into something
much more intimate, blurring the lines between longing, desire, and morality.
Set against a backdrop of quiet nights and stolen moments, this edgy, comedic
tale explores the thrill and complications of an illicit romance, where every
encounter is both intoxicating and dangerous.
