In the
latest chapter of Shinichi Fukuda ’s manga , “ Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru ( My Dress-Up Darling ),”
it was announced that the final chapter of the work will be published
in the March 21, 2025 issue of Young Gangan magazine. This news comes
as a complete surprise, especially since at no point was it reported that the
work was in its final story arc.
“ From
now on, forever, just the two of us ,” explains the endnote of the
chapter published today (the penultimate one). However, the situation has
generated a great number of theories among fans, from those who smell a
possible cancellation to those who assume that the author’s health has
declined. The first is quite unlikely considering that the story of
Marin Kitagawa is one of the flagships of the magazine, but the second makes
sense given that the author had had difficulties keeping up the pace of
publication.
However,
there are others who have a much more positive theory: the manga could change
its name to enter a new arc. Just as the manga “Hajimete no Gal” ended in 2021 and started
again with another name, “Hajimete no Gal: Daigakusei-hen”, fans are
hoping that “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” will follow the same path.

Shinichi
Fukuda began
publishing the manga in Square Enix 's Young Gangan magazine in
January 2018. The anime adaptation premiered in Winter 2022
(January-March) and had a total of twelve episodes. A second season is
in production and will premiere this year in Japan.
Synopsis
of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru
Absorbed
in the family business of traditional doll making, Wakana Gojou is a reserved,
friendless first-year high school student. With the painful memory of a
childhood friend's scorn for his interest, Gojou is unable to relate to his
classmates and their hobbies, and becomes isolated. Gojou has yet to perfect
the crafting of doll faces, but is exceptionally skilled at making their
clothes. His skill with the sewing machine is soon discovered by his beautiful
classmate Marin Kitagawa, whose boldness and honesty Gojou both admires and
envies. She instantly shares Gojou's own hobby: dressing up as characters from
erotic video games.
However,
Kitagawa doesn't know how to sew her own costumes, leading her to seek out
Gojou's expertise. As he gets drawn into the lovely girl's endless cosplay
adventures, Kitagawa becomes the first friend who fully accepts him. So,
although they are polar opposites, their relationship slowly blossoms thanks to
their ability to help each other navigate the intricate world of cosplay.
