A press release listed that the manga written and illustrated by Roku Sakura , “ April Showers Bring May Flowers ( Busu ni Hanataba wo ),” will be getting an anime adaptation premiering in the Summer-2025 (July-September) period . The release listed details of the voice cast and production staff, as well as a message from the author, who wrote:

  • « When I heard about the anime adaptation, I was just preparing the final volume of the manga, so I was really surprised, but at the same time, I clearly remember that I stopped feeling sad that it was ending. The script and the direction of the animation team, the acting of the seiyuu… everything was so amazing that I even found myself laughing and thinking, “Is Busu Hana… that funny?” Even the main theme is so good that I wondered if it could really be that amazing. Really, every single detail has an impressive quality. This is all thanks to the many people who worked on Busu Hana and, of course, to all the readers who have supported it. I hope that those who watch the anime will also enjoy it very much . »

For her part, Roku Sakura began publishing the manga through Kadokawa 's Monthly Young Ace magazine in April 2016, and ended it in September 2022 with a total of twelve compiled volumes. She previously wrote other works such as " Flowernoid no Shuufukushi ", " Koi. - Itoshii Itoshii to Iu Kokoro ", and " Satsuki no Sora ".

April Showers Bring May Flowers Synopsis

Despite what the meaning of her name suggests, Hana Tabata is nothing like a flower. Her eyes are too small and her limbs are far from slender. In fact, she is “ugly,” and as such, she knows that pretty things and a fairytale romance are out of her reach. However, this doesn’t stop her from daydreaming every morning as she tends to the school’s beautiful flowerbeds that contrast with her appearance.

One day, a chance encounter brings Tabata into contact with her classmate, Yousuke Ueno, who is known for being both handsome and extremely kind. Why would such a popular student get involved with a background character like her? For Tabata, it's an unfathomable situation, but can Ueno prove to him that appearances aren't everything?
