A new
promotional video for the project has been revealed on the official website
for Studio 4°C 's upcoming original film , " ChaO
." The video confirms that the film is scheduled for release in
Japanese theaters on August 15 , and lists production details and the
voice cast.
The
visual's taglines read, " Their meeting is a miracle "
and " This summer, you may meet a new-age mermaid princess like
you've never seen before! " Additionally, Oricon reported
that Studio 4°C had been secretly working on the film for the past seven
years. Producer Eiko Tanaka stated at a January press conference that
the film is hand-drawn with over 100,000 drawings.
Synopsis
of ChaO
In a
future society where humans and mermaids live in harmony, Stephen, an ordinary
office worker, sees his life take an unexpected turn when Chao, a princess from
the mermaid kingdom, suddenly proposes to him. Despite the surprise, this
unexpected union begins a pure and genuine love story, in which the two must
overcome the differences between their worlds while exploring the feelings that
arise between them.
