As we mentioned a few months ago , a new promotional video for
" Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc " was presented
during Jump Festa 2025 , confirming its release in 2025 and
revealing changes in the production team.
Now, during
an event at AnimeJapan 2025, it was announced that the film will open
in Japan on September 19. MAPPA also shared a story description,
reminding us that Denji, now part of the Demon Slayer Special Division 4,
meets Reze, a mysterious girl who works at a cafe , after a
date with Makima.
There's
no doubt that the Reze Arc is one of the most beloved sections for readers of
the original manga, with some even considering it the story's high point , so this film definitely
promises to break records if done right. And of course, don't forget to
check out the details revealed so far:
- The
first season of the anime aired during the Fall 2022 season with a total
of twelve episodes. Tatsuki Fujimoto began serializing the manga
in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in
December 2018, concluding the first part in December 2020. The second part
has been published on the Shonen Jump Plus digital
service since July 2022.
- The
voice cast includes Kikunosuke Toya , Fairouz Ai , Shogo
Sakata , Tomori Kusunoki , Reina Ueda , Mariya
Ise , Kenjirou Tsuda , Shiori Izawa , Daiki
Hamano and You Taichi .
- The
production team includes Tatsuya Yoshihara as
director, Hiroshi Seko as script supervisor, Souta
Yamazaki and Kazutaka Sugiyama as character
design and animation director, and Kensuke Ushio as music
composer.
- The
story centers on Denji, a young man who survives by hunting demons to pay
off his debts until his life changes drastically when he merges with
Pochita, his faithful chainsaw demon. Now transformed into
Chainsaw Man, Denji works for the Special Demon Slayer Division, facing
increasingly dangerous threats while uncovering the secrets of the world
he lives in.
