On the
official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels " Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou,
Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen ( KimiSen: Our Last Crusade or
the Rise of a New World )", it was announced that the
second season will restart from its first episode starting next April 10 in
Japan.
It is
worth remembering that this second season had been suspended indefinitely since
August 2024, after having aired its fourth episode, due to production problems. According to the official
statement, the suspension was to "ensure good visual quality in the
episodes", a speech that we have already seen more than once in the past
from the SILVER LINK studios.
The first
season aired during the fall 2020 season (October-December) and
consisted of twelve episodes. Kei Sazane and Ao
Nekonabe began publishing the light novels through Fujimi Shobo 's Fantasia Bunko imprint
in May 2017. A manga adaptation by Okama ran in Hakusensha 's Young
Animal magazine from May 2018 to March 2021.
Synopsis of KimiSen: Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World
A force
known as the Astral Power spreads across the world, wielded by Astral Mages.
Fearing its destructive power, the “Empire” hunts down those who display their
skills. The tormented mages then found the Sovereignty of Nebulis to escape
their oppressors. Since then, the two nations have been in bitter conflict, the
war still raging for over a century. After committing the great crime of
freeing an imprisoned witch, the talented knight Iska is sentenced to prison.
One year
later, the Empire’s leaders suddenly decide to release Iska, on the condition
that he hunt down a fearsome mage known as the “Ice Calamity Witch.” Hoping to
end the war, Iska agrees. Coincidentally, the Ice Calamity Witch herself,
Aliceliese “Alice” Lou Nebulis XI, also desires peace and is willing to do
whatever it takes to end the Empire. As Iska and Alice yearn for a crusade to
turn the world into one without strife, misfortune, or pain, the threads of
fate draw them ever closer together, creating a bond that goes beyond something
fabricated by mere coincidence.
