A press
release from Aniplex announced that Keiichirou Shibuya 's
manga , " Introduction to Mineralogy ( Ruri
no Houseki )", is getting an anime adaptation. The release
included a promotional video, which listed production details and the voice
cast, with a premiere date slated for this year.
Keiichirou
Shibuya began
publishing the manga through Kadokawa 's Harta magazine
in August 2019, and it is currently finished .
Synopsis
of Introduction to Mineralogy
The
"scientific adventure" story follows Ruri, a high school student
passionate about minerals and gems. Her fascination with these precious stones
leads her to observe them closely, but her knowledge about them is limited. One
day, Ruri meets Nagi, a mineralogy graduate student, who further sparks her
curiosity and introduces her to the deep and complex world of mineralogy. As
she learns about the formation, structure, and properties of minerals, Ruri
begins to view gemstones from a scientific perspective, uncovering the hidden
secrets in their composition and the geological history they hold.
What
begins as a simple interest in the brilliance and beauty of gems becomes a
journey of learning and discovery, where Ruri explores the connection between
science and nature, and how minerals have influenced human history and culture
throughout time.
