Synopsis
of Kowloon Generic Romance
In the
distant future, people who love the old way of life live in the Kowloon Walled
City, a slum that serves as a refuge for those who long for the Hong Kong of
the past. Real estate agent Reiko Kujirai, however, yearns for the new and
exciting places in the area. In contrast, her only coworker, Hajime Kudou,
revels in the nostalgia the city invokes and is put off by anything modern that
seeps in beyond its walls. But despite their different viewpoints and constant
bickering over the most mundane things, the two often enjoy each other's
company.
One day,
a prank gone wrong leads Hajime to make an unexpected advance towards Reiko,
after which he quickly apologizes. Baffled by his actions, Reiko begins to
investigate possible explanations, only to discover a past she has no memory
of.
