After almost twenty years, Yozakura Quartet is about to end

In Volume 33 of Suzuhito Yasuda 's manga " Yozakura Quartet ," it was reported that the series will end with its next compiled book volume. This news comes after the series entered its final story arc in December 2022, further confirming that just because a manga "enters its final arc" doesn't always mean it "will end soon."

For his part, Suzuhito Yasuda began publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in January 2006. The work was adapted into an anime by Nomad studios in Fall-2008 (October-December) . Then, a second season produced by Tatsunoko Production premiered in Fall-2013 with the title " Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta". Additionally, the OVAs " Yozakura Quartet: Hoshi no Umi " and " Yozakura Quartet: Tsuki ni Naku " were also produced in 2010 and 2013.

Synopsis of Yozakura Quartet

The world of Yozakura Quartet is actually not one, but two worlds: one of humans and one of youkai. Despite youkai primarily appearing human, they can have animal-like physical characteristics, along with a number of special abilities. Normally, youkai are confined to their world, but some have found their way to the human realm. As a symbol of peace and a bridge between the two worlds, a city was built within the protective barrier of seven magical trees, known as the Seven Pillars. This city, Sakurashin, is home to both humans and youkai, and the peace between them is maintained by the Hizumi Life Counseling Office.

The head of this office is Akina Hizumi, a teenager with a family-inherited ability to perform "tuning," which can permanently send dangerous youkai back to their home world. He is aided by a group of girls, including the town's 16-year-old youkai mayor, Hime Yarizakura; the town announcer and resident telepath Ao Nanami; and Kotoha Isone, a half-youkai who can summon objects simply by speaking their name. As new residents arrive and mysterious events begin to occur, this quartet of protectors and their closest friends must continue to protect Sakurashin City and maintain the fragile balance of peace between humans and youkai.
