In the
latest issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine, it was announced
that Yuu Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana 's
manga " Terra Formars " will be going
on hiatus until next summer in Japan.
In fact,
the manga had returned from a four-year hiatus in April 2024. Prior to that, it had been on
indefinite hiatus since December 2019, specifically due to Sasuga's health
issues. Tachibana then stated in August 2021 that the manga would resume until
Sasuga recovered from his issues.
For their
part, Yuu Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana began
publishing the manga through Shueisha 's Miracle Jump magazine
between January and December 2011, and then transferred to Weekly Young
Jump in April 2012, where it is serialized to date.
In
addition to several spin-offs, the work was adapted into an OVA by LIDEN FILMS studios , released in
2014 with the title " Terra Formars: Bugs 2 Arc ";
as well as a television anime series produced by LIDEN FILMS released
in Autumn-2014 (October-December) and Spring-2016
(April-June) , totaling twenty-six episodes.
Terra
Formars Synopsis
During
the 21st century, humanity attempted to colonize Mars by sending two species
capable of withstanding the planet's harsh environment to terraform it: algae
and cockroaches. However, they failed to anticipate these species' remarkable
ability to adapt. Now, in the 26th century, a deadly disease known as the Alien
Engine Virus has reached Earth, and it is suspected that the cure lies only on
Mars.
The
problem is that Mars is currently invaded by creatures known as
"Terraformars," incredibly powerful and intelligent humanoid
cockroaches that mutated from those originally sent to the planet. The Annex I
team, composed of one hundred men and women genetically enhanced with
characteristics of powerful Earth organisms, has been sent to Mars with the
mission of finding the cause of the Alien Engine Virus and helping to cure
humanity, marking the beginning of the crew's fight for survival. 4th
