A recent leak by user " @/SugoiLITE " listed that the anime adaptation of Yugo Kobayashi's manga "Ao Ashi" will have a second season. While the information has not been officially confirmed, the source has proven to be trustworthy on previous occasions, and a screenshot of a response that seems to confirm the information is circulating online. It is therefore possible that an official confirmation will come in the next issue of Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine, scheduled for May 2 in Japan
There's
no doubt that "Ao Ashi" is one of the most notable sports anime of
recent years ,
so it would have been unforgivable if a second season hadn't been approved for
production. And of course, don't forget to check out the franchise details
below:
- The manga "Ao Ashi,"
written and illustrated by Yuu Kobayashi, began serialization in January
2015 in Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine. The work
is currently in its final stretch, marking the end of a long serialization
run.
- The series inspired a
twenty-four-episode anime adaptation, produced by Production IG studios
. The anime aired during the Spring 2022 season (April to June), receiving
praise for its realistic take on soccer and the personal development of
its protagonist.
- The story follows Ashito Aoi, a
young man with an unpredictable and self-centered playing style, who
shines as the star of his school soccer team. However, during an important
tournament, a mistake caused by his bad temper leaves him ejected from the
match, leading to his team's elimination. Just when he thinks all is lost,
Tatsuya Fukuda, a youth team coach in Tokyo, appears. He sees great
potential in Ashito and invites him to a tryout in the capital. Faced with
a competitive environment full of talent, Ashito must push his limits and
evolve if he wants to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional soccer
player.
