As announced a few months ago in a previous news story, Nanatsu Mukunoki 's " Wataten! an Angel Flew Down to Me " ( Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! ) manga reached its grand finale in the latest issue of Monthly Comic Yuri Hime magazine. The story bids farewell after more than eight and a half years of serialization , since its beginning in November 2016.

The author himself shared a farewell message on Twitter, thanking all the readers for their support: " Yuri Hime Comic Release Day! This issue sees the release of the final chapter of Wataten! Thanks to everyone's support, I was able to draw until the end with joy. I hope you all enjoyed it until the end too! Thank you so much! I feel sadder than at my own graduation ceremony ."

Yes, it was that emotional. And of course, fans were quick to react. On social media, the goodbyes and tears flowed nonstop: " Will we never be able to see Miyako again...? "; " Thank you for these 8 years... and congratulations on the ending! "; " It hurts, I'm sad "; " I loved her so much that I even went all the way to Kanazawa just to see the movie... "; " Thank you so much for all this time. There's no doubt that Wataten! left a lasting impression on its audience, with its adorable style, quirky humor, and cast of endearing characters. Although the manga has ended, many still dream of a spin-off, a special, or even a new animated season that will allow them to reunite with Miyako and company. For now, all that remains is to say: thank you for everything, Wataten! and farewell!

• The manga " Wataten! an Angel Flew Down to Me ", written and illustrated by Nanatsu Mukunoki , began serialization in Ichijinsha 's Monthly Comic Yuri Hime magazine in November 2016. The work received a twelve-episode anime adaptation, produced by Doga Kobo studios , under the direction of Daisuke Hiramaki and scripts by Yuka Yamada . • A sequel film titled " Wataten! An Angel Flew Down to Me: Precious Friends " was later released , hitting Japanese theaters in October 2022.

• Wataten! follows Miyako Hoshino, an extremely shy college student who spends her days making cosplay outfits. One day, her younger sister Hinata brings home her adorable classmate Hana Shirosaki, and Miyako is instantly charmed by her cuteness. From then on, she tries everything to get closer to Hana, from giving her candy to getting her to try on her cosplays, though this doesn't always result in a good impression.
