The Date
A Live franchise continues to surprise fans! After its big twelfth anniversary
announcement, with 12 new projects on the way, the excitement just keeps
growing. The first of these projects will be a special recap of the anime's
fifth season, scheduled to premiere on April 10, 2025. As you may
recall, Date A Live has had five seasons and several films since it began in
2013, so this promises a lot!
Now, new
details bring even more surprises. A new anime project has been
revealed, including commentary from the original author, Koushi Tachibana, and
an exclusive illustration by Tsunako, the novel's illustration artist. In
his message, Tachibana noted that it has been 12 years since the first season
of the anime and 14 years since the original story began. He thanked
all the fans for their support and commented that they are working on something
new to continue Shidou and Tokisaki's story.
- Koushi Tachibana's (original
author) comment: Congratulations on the announcement of the new Date A Live project!
Thank you so much! So, here we have a new project. We've had 5
seasons of the TV series, movies, and even spinoff adaptations, but it
seems like there's more movement on the horizon. Wow! This is exciting.
What could this next thing be? Let's take a look at this
intriguingly cool teaser visual. Is this... a spiritual crystallization
(Sephira)...? And there seems to be something blurry in the background...?
I believe more details will be announced later, so stay tuned! It's been
12 years since the first season of the anime, and 14 years since the
original work began. It's been turned into a long-running light novel
series. Thank you so much for sticking with us for so long. Thanks
to you, it seems like we'll be seeing something new in the future! I hope
you can continue to accompany us in Shidou and Tokisaki's story a little
longer.
Plus,
the new anniversary visual shows the 12 Spirits in summer dresses—and that's
not all! This image will be part of the first surprise figure project for all
the characters, which has us very excited. Events were also announced, such as the
end of the Date A Birthday campaign in Tokyo, which will run from April 24th to
May 11th, as well as collaborations with Don Quixote and the creation of new
visual calendars. But that's not all; other anniversary projects will continue
to be revealed in the coming months, and expectations continue to rise.
We've
already gotten a glimpse of the first major project, and everything points to
Date A Live having so much more to surprise us. The adventure continues, and there's
still so much more to see!
