A new
promotional video for the project has been released on the official website for
the anime adaptation of Uoto 's manga " 100M ( Hyakuemu )."
The video reveals the main voice cast members and lists the film's
slated premiere on September 19 in Japanese theaters.
For its
part, Uoto ( Orb: On the Movements of the Earth )
began publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Magazine
Pocket service in November 2018. On the other hand, Kenji
Iwaisawa , who is directing this feature film, was previously in
charge of directing the film adaptation of " ON-GAKU: Our Sound ",
released in January 2020.
Voice cast
- Tori Matsuzaka as the prodigy
runner Togashi. The
voice actor commented: “ When I read the original manga, I could
feel the characters’ breathing, the sound of the wind cutting through the
air, the impact of their feet hitting the ground as they ran, their sweat,
their body temperature. It was a completely new experience for me. More
than anything, I was deeply moved by the inner conflicts of each runner,
the subtle and delicate emotions, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages.
Being able to participate in the animated adaptation of Hyakuen feels like
an honor, but at the same time, a huge responsibility. It’s been 14 years
since I last acted alongside Someya, and I was very happy to see us again.
The Komiya that Someya played was exactly the Komiya I imagined. I
sincerely hope that this film conveys the feelings that the original manga
left me with: the sounds, the sweat, and the human warmth. Please
look forward to it .”
- Shouta Sometani as Komiya, a
worker who began an obsession with the 100-meter dash when he met Togashi. The voice actor
commented: “ When I read Master Uoto’s original work, I felt such
intense energy that I thought I could hear the sounds of a 100-meter race,
as if I were running against the wind myself. I thought that if that
feeling could be translated into an animated form, it would definitely be
a fascinating work, and it completely captured me. Komiya is a character
with a special humanity, someone whose emotion sometimes overwhelms him to
the point of losing sight of his own limits, and that resonated with me. I
put my all into this performance, hoping that the audience will also be
breathless when watching it .”
