In the
latest issue of Monthly Young Magazine, it was announced that Jaku
Amano's manga "A-DO" will be taking a one-issue hiatus but will
return in June with its final story arc. It's worth noting that a
recent leak claimed the series will be getting an anime adaptation, but no
official confirmation has yet been issued.
Jaku
Amano began
publishing the manga in Kodansha 's Monthly Young
Magazine in June 2019. This is the author's first serialized work, and
has been praised for its vivid visual style and its exploration of current
social themes such as racism, marginalization, and fear of the
"other," presented in a format that blends urban drama with
biotechnology and action elements.
Synopsis
of A-DO
The
story is set in a Japan that, following a massive wave of migration, has become
a country rife with cultural tensions. In the middle of all this is Riko, an
impulsive young woman who constantly changes jobs. One day, while riding her
motorcycle during a protest, she saves a boy named Eito from being run over.
Shortly after, she takes him out for ramen, but the peace doesn't last: an army
sniper shoots the boy, and strange roots emerge from Eito's arm to stop the
bullet in midair.
From
that moment on, Riko finds herself drawn into a much larger conflict. Who is
Eito really? And why is the military searching for him? Thus begins a story
filled with action, suspense, and supernatural elements.
