A few days ago we talked about the
leak made
by reliable insider @/SugoiLITE , which claimed that the light novel series
" Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord ( Okiraku
Ryoushu no Tanoshii Ryouchi Bouei )" would be getting an anime
adaptation. While there was no official confirmation or production details at
the time, we already knew the source had a good track record.
As it turns
out, the leak was completely true! During the "Great Overlap Bunko
All-Star Gathering Special 2025" special broadcast, it was officially
announced that the series written by Sou Akaike and illustrated by Kururi will
be getting a television anime adaptation.
To
celebrate the anime's news, the project's three main creators shared special
comments:
- Sou Akaike
(author): Celebrating the anime adaptation of Okiraku Ryoushu! Hello, I'm Sou
Akaike! I'm thrilled to be adapting Easygoing Territory Defense by the
Optimistic Lord into an anime. This was made possible thanks to the hard
work of editors H, O, and T, the creative strength of our illustrator Ten,
and the talent of Aoiro Maro, who handled the manga. But most of all, I
owe it to all of you, the readers who have followed this story. Thank you
so much! The anime production process will be in the hands of many
talented people, to whom I am also very grateful. I'm probably the one
most eager to see the finished anime, to the point where I can't even
sleep at night! I sincerely hope that all of you can enjoy this anime as

Optimistic Lord!

- The light novel " Easygoing
Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord" began as a standalone
publication on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in May
2020, written by Mitsuru Inoue . The publishing house Overlap later acquired
the rights for physical publication, beginning publication in September
2021 with illustrations by Kururi .
- The manga adaptation began
publishing in August 2021 through the digital service Comic Gardo ,
also from Overlap , and is in charge of the artist Maro
Aoiro .
- The story follows Van, the
fourth son of a powerful nobleman, who at the age of two regains his
memories of his past life as a salaryman in Japan. Thanks to his adult
mind in a child's body, he is soon considered a child prodigy. However,
upon turning eight, he develops the ability to use "Production
Magic," a magic unsuitable for combat. Because his family values
offensive magic, he is banished to a decaying rural village to oversee
it.
