As previously reported , the anime based on the light
novels written by Yuuki Kimikawa , " Welcome to
the Outcast's Restaurant! ( Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso! )",
had already confirmed its premiere for the Summer-2025 season. Well, now the
exact date has finally been revealed: the anime will debut on Japanese
television on July 3.
The series
will premiere first on AT-X at 10:00 PM (Japan time), and will subsequently air
on Tokyo MX at midnight (technically, on July 4th at midnight). It will also
air on CBC and BS11. In addition, a new promotional video was released,
in which we can hear the opening theme song, "Unique," performed by
the vocal band Dannie May , who shared their excitement at
participating in a project they had already heard before as readers of the
original series.
New
voices were also confirmed for the cast, joining those previously announced:
Sayumi Suzushiro as Henrietta; Mariya Ise as Vivia; and Satsumi Matsuda as
Bachel. The
three actresses shared their thoughts on their experience participating in this
project. Suzushiro, for example, confessed that she thought she had completely
failed her audition and that the news of being chosen was a huge surprise. She
also mentioned being happy to be in a food-themed series, one of her career
goals.
For her
part, Mariya Ise described her character Vivia as an androgynous boy with light
blue hair, a bit of a talker and a magic expert, who is sure to bring a smile
to more than one face. Matsuda commented that Bachel speaks with an accent
reminiscent of Kansai dialect, something she found very comfortable portraying
from her first reading of the manga. Finally, the band Dannie May
explained that "Unique" is inspired by the excessive kindness of
Dennis, the protagonist, and how that attitude slowly heals the wounded
characters he encounters, while he himself also finds solace in these new connections.
The project
is shaping up to be a heartwarming series with a strong touch of warmth and
comfort food. It's almost time to see if this restaurant for
"exiles" whets our appetites in both our hearts and our stomachs.
- The anime "Welcome to the
Outcast's Restaurant!" stars Shunsuke Takeuchi as Dennis and Marika
Tachibana as Atelier . Jouji Shimura ( Tamagotchi! , Animal
Crossing ) is directing at OLM Team Yoshioka ,
while Deko Akao ( Arakawa Under the Bridge, Ragna Crimson
) is writing and supervising the scripts. Aoi Yamato (
Pokémon Journeys, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! ) is designing the
characters, and Masato Kouda ( KonoSuba ) is composing
the soundtrack.
- The story was originally
launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in 2018 by Yuuki Kimikawa. Overlap published the
first volume of the light novel in 2019, and the third volume in June
2020. The manga adaptation of the work, by Tsumumi, began in 2019 on
Overlap's Comic Gardo website. The first compiled book volume was
published in May 2020, and the ninth volume was released on March 25.
- The story follows the
adventures of Dennis, a level 99 chef who, after being betrayed and
expelled from his guild, decides to open a restaurant in the countryside. There, he meets Atelier,
a disgraced noblewoman turned slave, whom Dennis saves. Together, they
open the restaurant, which soon becomes a refuge for other exiles.
