The
youthful romance and intense days of badminton are ready to give the next
serve. The production committee of the animated adaptation of Blue Box (Ao
no Hako) released an emotional promotional trailer and a beautiful visual
image for its highly anticipated second season, confirming that the
series will officially premiere on October 4, 2026.
The new
promotional image shows us Chinatsu Kano lying on the snow in a rather
melancholic winter landscape, staring straight ahead and anticipating the
dramatic tone that this sequel will take. For its part, the main trailer starts
by showing the closeness between Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu before introducing
Yumeka Kido, a new character who will arrive to stir up the waters and add
emotional complications to the group. The trailer shows the passing of the
seasons and how the feelings and sporting pressures between the protagonists
evolve as the story progresses.
The musical
section of this installment also promises to excite fans of the anime
industry. The aiko singer will perform the opening theme
titled "Anata no Hana no Iro," sharing that the song seeks to capture
those youthful feelings of secret letters and school loves. Elsewhere Kikou (Glass
no Knife) debuts in animated productions with the closing theme song
"blue in," hoping to bring an extra layer of comfort and emotional
depth to each episode.
For this
continuation, the animation production is in the hands of the Electric
Circus studio. Directing is Daisuke Sako (known for
his work on Lupin ZERO), while Yuko Kakihara (The
Apothecary Diaries) returns to oversee the scripts. Character design and
main animation direction are once again in charge of Miho Tanino (Tower
of God), with a soundtrack composed by Takashi Ohmama and
production supervision under the UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS label.
