Gotoubun no Hanayome announces its return, or something like that.

The "Gotoubun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets)" franchise is alive and well: they've just announced that a new console game is on the way, the fourth developed by MAGES. The best part is that the full details will be revealed on May 5th at 9:45 a.m. (Japan time), right on the Nakano Quintuplets' birthday. The presentation will be streamed on the video game's official YouTube channel.

In case you didn't know, this franchise was born from Negi Haruba's manga and became one of the most popular school romances of the last decade. It has more than 20 million copies in circulation, two anime seasons (2019 and 2021), a blockbuster movie in 2022, and animated specials in 2023 and 2024. Although the manga has already ended and made it very clear who ends up with Futaro, the video games do the opposite: here you choose which of the five sisters you'll stay with, and that's exactly what fans like the most.

The first game came out in 2021, the second in 2022, and the third in 2023. And now, in 2025, this new installment arrives, continuing the same style: original stories where the quintuplets compete for your heart and you decide who wins. Scenarios like school trips, romantic dates, and crazy vacations have already appeared in past installments, so this new title is sure to bring more moments to fall in love (or suffer choosing).

Since April 30th, the game's official Twitter account has launched a countdown to the announcement, and they're also holding a giveaway for exclusive postcards featuring artwork from the previous games and the new one. Just follow the account and repost to enter; there will be five winners. And if you haven't played the previous games yet, they're on sale for a limited time thanks to a special Golden Week sale: the three previous games and the story content for the mobile game "Gotopazu" are 50% off in their digital versions. In other words, it's the perfect time to catch up.

So now you know: the manga may have had a closed ending, but the games still let you dream of your favorite waifu winning. Are you going with Miku again, or are you giving Nino a chance this time?
