The story
of Akuyaku Reijou no Naka No Milestone (also known as The One Within The
Villainess) has taken a new step towards animation. The final chapter of the
manga epilogue, published last Friday, confirmed that the work will receive an
anime adaptation.
At the
moment, no details have been given about the project format, but it has been
confirmed that the anime will adapt both the original novel and its manga
version. The news has excited fans of the genre isekai and the stories of
villains with dark turns.
A
reincarnation that awakens the true villain
The story
revolves around EMI, a young lover of the Otome Games who, after dying in a
traffic accident, is reincarnated in the body of Remilia, the antagonist of one
of her favorite titles. In life, Emi felt sympathy for Sembilia and considered
his tragic destiny unfair, so he decides to change the course of history to
give him a happy ending.
However,
EMI soon discovers that the star maiden (the heroine of the game) has also been
reincarnated by another soul that pursues its own interests. This new maiden
manipulates the narrative, turns everyone against Remilia and even makes the
prince, promised of the villain, repudie. Given such betrayal, Emi's
consciousness fades ... and the true sever, which was always present, awakens
completely.
Marked by
the love Emi had, Sevilia decides to take the reins of her life and take
revenge on those who destroyed her only friend: the reincarnated heroine and
the traitorous prince.
From
webnovel to animation
The story
was created by Makiburo, who began publishing her in Shōsetsuka or Narō in May
2020. Subsequently, Ichijinsha launched two volumes printed in 2021 and 2024.
In addition, the author has published parallel stories to expand the universe
of the work.
The
adaptation to manga, illustrated by Nazuna Shiraume, was launched in Pixiv
Comic in November 2021. So far, five volumes have been published, and the sixth
and last volume is scheduled to leave on June 25, 2025.
With its
mixture of psychological drama, reincarnation and female justice, Akuyaku
Reijou no Naka does not promise to be one of the most intense adaptations of
the romantic isekai in the coming years.
