The
official X (formerly Twitter) account for the Blue Box (Ao no Hako) franchise
announced this Monday that the manga will be going on a one-week hiatus. The
series will not appear in the 27th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump
magazine, scheduled for June 2, but will return as normal in the 28th issue,
which will be published on June 9 (local time in Spain, UTC+2).
A Story
Blending Romance and Sports
Blue Box,
which combines elements of youth romance with the sports genre, was created by
Kōji Miura. The work began as a one-shot in 2020 before beginning its official
serialization in April 2021 in Weekly Shonen Jump. Since then, it has become
one of the magazine's most popular series.
Shueisha
plans to publish the 21st compiled book volume of the manga on July 4.
Additionally, the series is available in English through the digital service
MANGA Plus and is also distributed by Viz Media in both digital and print
formats.
From Paper
to Screen
The Blue
Box anime adaptation debuted on Japanese television on October 3 and arrived on
Netflix Japan the following day, on October 4. The first season aired for two
consecutive seasons, further cementing the series' popularity among fans of the
slice-of-life genre with romantic and sports-themed undertones.
