A musical film full of rhythm, colors and humor

The film is set to open in Japanese theaters on August 8, 2025 (local time). It will be the 32nd 2D animated film in the series and will mark the debut of "musical entertainment cinema" within the Shin-chan universe . Set in India, a country where the franchise enjoys great popularity, the story will follow Shinnosuke and his friends from the Kasukabe Defense Squadron as they embark on a vibrant dance competition.

Actor Kento Kaku will play Wolf , an eccentric Indian billionaire who sings and dances. The film will be directed by franchise veteran Masakazu Hashimoto , who also helmed the 30th film, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden . The script is by Kimiko Ueno , who returns after writing previous installments such as Shinkon Ryokō Hurricane .

A franchise that continues to break records

The previous film, Crayon Shin-chan: Ora-tachi no Kyōryū Nikki (Our Dinosaur Diary), opened in Japan on August 9, 2024 , and debuted at number two at the box office. It sold 365,000 tickets in three days , grossing over 455 million yen (about US$3.05 million ). Within four days, it sold 510,000 tickets and grossed over 636 million yen (about US$4.32 million ).

Everything points to this new installment matching or even surpassing the previous success, thanks to its innovative musical approach and exotic setting. Will we see Shin-chan taking a few Bollywood steps forward?
