During this
weekend's Anime Central event , Crunchyroll officially
announced that it will stream the Kamitsubaki City Under Construction anime
in the Summer 2025 season . The series is set to premiere
in July and will be available in multiple regions
including Europe, Latin America, North America, Africa, Oceania, the
Middle East, the CIS region, and India .
Release
date in Japan
The
Japanese premiere is scheduled for Thursday, July 3 , at 11:56
PM local time (UTC+2) . It will air on TBS and 27
affiliated networks nationwide.
A story
born from the metaverse
The anime
is part of Kamitsubaki Studio 's extensive multimedia project
, in collaboration with PIEDPIPER . Set in the enigmatic Kamitsubaki
City , the story revolves around a group of girls who explore the
secrets of this virtual city with the goal of restoring order and harmony to
it.
Vocal cast starring VWP
The voices
of the protagonists are provided by the members of the virtual artist
group VWP (Virtual Witch Phenomenon) :
- KAF as Kaf Morisaki : A
student with average academic performance and poor athletic skills, but an
overwhelming passion for singing.
- RIM as Rime Tanioki : A
perfect young woman in every way, from her wealthy background to her
athletic and vocal talent.
- Harusaruhi as Haru Asanushi :
a girl who lives each day to the fullest, supported by music and her
friends.
- Isekaijoucho as Sekai Yorukawa :
innocent but determined, with a strong spirit.
- KOKO as Koko Rinne :
sweet and empathetic, always concerned about the well-being of her
friends.
A
creative team with experience in alternative worlds
The script
and narrative universe are in charge of Sōki Tsukishima ,
known for his work on the novel Root Double -Before Crime * After Days- .
The direction is in the hands of Kōdai Kakimoto ( BanG
Dream! ), who also oversees the scripts, while PALOW. designs
the characters. The animation is in charge of the studio SMDE .
Beyond
anime: an expanding multimedia universe
Kamitsubaki
City is an interactive project launched in 2019 that has brought together more
than 20,000 users in alternate reality game experiences
and narrative role-playing games.
In addition
to the anime, the franchise includes several spin-offs:
- June 13 : Kamitsubaki City Under
Construction Witch's Daughter -Witchling- will be released in Japanese
theaters for a limited time.
- May 23 – The novel Kamitsubaki-Shi
Kensetsu-chū will be released. NOVELIZED written by
Sōki Tsukishima and illustrated by Sakinoji.
- Visual novels : Titles like Kamitsubaki
City Regenerate and Kamitsubaki Gakuen Shimbunbu are
now available or in development for PC via Steam.
- Video Games : The rhythm game Kamitsubaki
City Ensemble is available on iOS, Android, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and
PS5. Additionally, the game Girls Made Pudding was recently
released on Switch and PC.
With
immersive storytelling, endearing characters, and an ever-expanding
universe, Kamitsubaki City Under Construction promises to
become one of the most ambitious projects in modern anime.
