The
anime Mono , an adaptation of the four-panel manga
created by Afro , introduced a new character this Saturday,
May 11, who has sparked great interest among fans: Kurokuma-sensei ,
a horror manga author with a unique personality and an enigmatic air. She is
voiced by Hina Yōmiya , known for her delicate and expressive
performances.
The
announcement was made through the anime's official X account (formerly
Twitter) , along with character illustrations and a special comment
from the cast. Kurokuma-sensei made his first appearance in episode 5 ,
which aired Saturday in Japan, marking the debut of this peculiar mangaka
within the Mono universe.
Production
and cast details
The Mono anime premiered on April
12 on Japanese channels such as Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma
TV, BS11, and AT-X , and is also available to stream through ABEMA and d
Anime Store . Crunchyroll is also streaming the
series internationally, with an English dub available since May 3 .
The
production is being handled by Soigne studio , under the
direction of Ryota Aikei , who previously worked as an
assistant on Jujutsu Kaisen . Takuya Miyahara is
designing the characters , while Yoko Yonaiyama ( A
Sign of Affection ) is writing the script. The project is being
produced by Aniplex , and singer halca performs
the ending theme song, "Weekend Roll" .
A manga
that combines cinema and photography
Afro , also known for his Yuru
Camp△ manga , launched the Mono manga
in March 2017 in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine
. The story follows a group of high school girls who are part of the
"cinephoto" club, a curious fusion of film and photography .
The manga's fourth compiled book volume was published in April 2024 .
With the
arrival of Kurokuma-sensei and the participation of Hina
Yōmiya, the anime continues to expand its cast with characters that bring new
layers of humor and mystery to this relaxing yet creative student story.
