Shogakukan 's Big Comic magazine announced
in its 11th issue that Yukinobu Hoshino 's Munakata
Kyōju Sekai-hen manga will be going on a month-long hiatus .
The good news, however, is that the return is confirmed for July 10 ,
with the publication of a new chapter accompanied by color pages .
A saga
of mythological and cultural exploration
The work is
part of the renowned Munakata Kyōju series , which follows the
investigations of Professor Munakata , an anthropology expert
who studies cultural myths and legends , unraveling how these
stories influence and reflect a parallel history of humanity.
Munakata
Kyōju Sekai-hen began
serialization in February 2023 in Big Comic magazine ,
and its fifth compiled book volume was released on January
30 of this year.
A career
marked by science fiction and mystery
Yukinobu
Hoshino is also widely recognized for his science fiction work 2001
Nights , serialized between 1984 and 1986. This work was adapted into
two OVAs, one in 1987 and another in 2009, with international distribution
by Funimation and Manga Entertainment .
The
author's career also includes titles such as Rainman , which
concluded in January 2018, and Munakata Kyōju Denkikō (1994-1999),
followed by Munakata Kyōju Ikōroku (2004-2010), consolidating
a saga that mixes history, culture and mystery .
A
promising return
Fans of the
series can rest assured, as the hiatus will be brief , and the
return will include special material. July 10th will mark the
return of Professor Munakata to his travels and cultural revelations, this time
with the addition of color pages that will surely enrich the
viewing experience of the series.
