The
production team of the anime adaptation of Reiji Miyajima's Rent-A-Girlfriend
(Kanojo, Okarishimasu) manga has announced new details about the highly
anticipated fourth season. The premiere is scheduled for July 5, 2025, at 2:23
a.m. (UTC+2), as part of the Animeism block on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS.
In
addition, a new promotional image featuring Sumi Sakurasawa was revealed, as
well as the artists responsible for the theme songs for this new installment.
Claris and
Regal Lily Provide Music
The girl
group Claris, which recently transformed from a duo to a trio, will perform the
opening theme song "Umitsuki." This song marks their first work as a
trio in an anime series, and also represents the first time the three members
have written the lyrics together. The artists commented on how much they
enjoyed both the manga and the anime, and assured that they managed to capture
Kazuya's feelings in this emotional song.
Meanwhile,
the band Regal Lily will perform the ending theme song, "Boku no
Vega" (My Vega), adding a nostalgic touch to the end of each episode.
The cast and production team return for this new season.
The fourth
season will feature the return of familiar voice actors:
Shun Horie as Kazuya Kinoshita
Sora Amamiya as Chizuru Mizuhara
Aoi Yūki as Mami Nanami
Nao Tōyama as Ruka Sarashina
Rie Takahashi as Sumi Sakurasawa
Yū Serizawa as Mini Yaemori
The
animation continues to be handled by TMS Entertainment, with the news that
Kazuomi Koga, director of the first two seasons, returns to replace Shin'ya
Une, who directed the third season.
Two Parts
and a New Story Arc
This new
season will be divided into two cours (quarters of broadcast), with a break
between the two parts. The story will adapt the Hawaiians arc, a key stage in
the characters' emotional development.
The anime
began airing in July 2020 with a 12-episode first season. Since then,
Crunchyroll has distributed the previous three seasons internationally, with
the exception of Asia.
What is
Rent-A-Girlfriend about?
The story
follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a 20-year-old college student with little luck in
love. After being rejected by his girlfriend, he decides to rent a girlfriend
through an app. This is how he meets Chizuru Mizuhara, a beautiful and charming
young woman who will completely change his life. What begins as a simple
transaction turns into a romantic comedy full of twists, emotions, and
memorable moments.
The
original manga has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since
July 2017, and is also available in English through Kodansha USA Publishing.
