The Chainsaw Man franchise, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto's popular manga, has revealed a new official poster for its upcoming film Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, ahead of its unveiling at July's Anime Expo. The visual shows Denji and Reze holding hands, while in the background a fierce battle is fought between Chainsaw Man and Bomb Girl, accompanied by other key characters of the story.
The film
will be released in September in Japan
The film is
scheduled to be released in Japan in September 2025, with its international
release set to begin on September 24. In the United States, the film will
hit theaters on October 29 thanks to Sony Pictures.
A
high-caliber production team
The project
is in charge of the MAPPA studio, with Tatsuya
Yoshihara as director, recognized for his work in Black Clover and
some key episodes of the Chainsaw Man anime. The script is
again written by Hiroshi Seko, while Kazutaka Sugiyama returns
as character designer. Souta Yamazaki and Shun will
work as sub-character designers, and Sota Shigetsugu will lead
the action animation alongside Shoichi as the lead animator.
The design of the demons will be in the hands of Riki Matsuura and Kiyotaka
Oshiyama, the latter also director of Look Back.
The
history of the Arch of Reze
Reze's arc,
one of the most beloved by fans of the manga, will explore the intense
relationship between Denji and the mysterious Reze,
whose secret will unleash a series of explosive conflicts. This stage marks a
turning point in the narrative, combining romance, betrayal and unbridled
action.
The
success of the anime continues
The Chainsaw
Man anime debuted in October 2022 in Japan, with
global streaming via Crunchyroll. The story follows Denji,
a young man in debt who hunts demons with the help of his partner Pochita.
After being betrayed and killed, he makes a contract with Pochita to be revived
as Chainsaw Man, a half-human, half-demon being.
With the
arrival of the film, fans are preparing to relive one of the most emotional and
explosive chapters of Fujimoto's work, now on the big screen.
