on Tokyo MX. In addition, it will be available on platforms
such as AbemaTV, U-NEXT, Hulu and other Japanese services.
New
voices and more action for the NFT universe
The third
installment will be titled Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya San no Maki and
will feature several new cast members, including Show
Hayami, Yumika Yano, Anna Yamaki, Yuina, Hajime Sato, and Fukuko
Yukimiyama. The characters that each actor will play have not yet been
revealed.
Director Akifumi
Nonaka (Dinosaur Biyori) returns to lead this season's
production, while Toru Hosokawa (Polar Bear's Café)
returns to helm the script. Both have been at the forefront of the project
since its inception.
A
pioneering project in anime for NFT characters
The anime
is described as the first television series to star NFT characters.
Its first season premiered in October 2023, followed by the second
in January 2024. The original story begins when the Crypto
Scroll, a sacred scroll guarded in the ninja city of Kōka, is
stolen, sparking a fight between ninjas. The protagonists Sakuya, Nemu and Xiaolan are
forced to join forces to face the threat.
CryptoNinja:
An Expanding NFT Community
The CryptoNinja project
was created in 2021 by investor Ikehaya and
artist Rii2. In 2022, it was positioned as one of
the largest NFT communities in Japan, accumulating more than 15,000
Ether (equivalent to approximately 50 million yen or $430,000 in
February of that year) and gathering more than 50,000 followers.
The anime
is the result of a collaboration between Fanworks (known
as Aggretsuko), the Tokyo Otaku Mode platform,
the Tsucrea incubator, and the digital content company The
Battle. The project was officially announced in February 2022 and
has since continued to expand its presence in both the anime realm and the NFT
ecosystem.
