A
phenomenon that transcends media and borders
The
original novel, published in December 2004 by Shueisha,
was translated into English in 2009 by Viz Media and served as
a launch for his label Haikasoru, dedicated to Japanese science
fiction.
The story
was also adapted to sleeve by Takeshi Obata and Ryōsuke
Takeuchi between January and May 2014, with an English edition
published by Viz Media. In addition, that same year a graphic version was
released in a single volume in full color, adapted by Nick Mamatas and
with illustrations of Lee Ferguson.
The global
scope of the work was consolidated with the film live-action Edge of
Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt,
which premiered in 2014 and raised more than 370 million dollars
worldwide.
Now, with
his new animated adaptation and a renewed narrative perspective, All
You Need is Kill prepares to impact the global public again, this time
with a more intimate and emotional look from the eyes of her heroine.
